Mama's Hex

These are some hex signs my mom painted on a our family's barn. Hex signs were originally painted for protection of the home and farm, good fortune, and prosperity. I love the way these are have worn over the years. They are so simple and beautiful.

Oh, you must be from Pennsylvania too then...?!?? I grew up in a small town there and the PA Dutch commonly used hex signs, as you probably know. :) They are quite beautiful!

I just thought I would comment. These Hex Signs are called "colorful prayers", they are actually occult talismans. They are drawn from occult workbooks. They will certainly give your area a curse. They are not Godly. I would consider removing them. Check out Bill Schneobelen's book Blood on the Doorposts, as he talks about them. They are so beautiful, I agree, but when it comes to spiritual oppression, or satanic curses, I would seriously look into it.

I think they're lovely; they remind me of home (I gre up on a farm outside Bethlehem PA). They make me want to paint one and hang it on my home out here in California. =-)
